About Our Principal
Prof. D.PREKASAN,M.Tech has retired from Govt. Polytechnic College, Kottayam and he has got 31 years of service in Technical Education Department. He worked as Instructor/Lecturer / HoD in various Govt.Polytechnic Colleges including GPC.Kalamassery, GPC. Kothamangalam and RIT. He also has 5 years administrative experience as Superintendents in Govt.Technical Schools
He secured M.Tech (Production) with distinction from CUSAT and B.Tech (Mechanical) from College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram with first class. He also passed Post Diploma in Maintenance Engineering from FTI, Bangalore. He obtained Engineering Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from GPT, Kottayam. He passed Diploma in Technical Teaching from TTTI Madras. He also bagged Diploma in Traditional Architecture from Vasthuvidya Gurukulam, Aranamula. Currently he is doing research in biotribology field.
He had received ISTE national Best Polytechnic Teacher award in 2011. He also visited Australia as the VELT team member of AICTE. Apart from this, he participated in OBE curriculum and syllabus revision. He also worked as IEDC Nodal officer and Manager of CE cell. He served as the Implementing officer of NSQF Community college in Polytechnic. He also worked as Evaluator for various competitive examinationsand served as IMG training coordinator. He is a certified ASAP trainer.
He has published 4 articles in International Journals. He has presented technical papers in 6 international conferences and 5 national conferences.

Grievance Redressal Committee
The function of the Grievance Redressal Committee is to receive and look into the complaints lodged by any student. The committee will examine the matter in detail and judge its merit. The Grievance Committee will find appropriate solution for the grievance. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the Students Council. In case the person is unwilling to appear in self, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox / suggestion box of the Grievance Committee. Diploma in Computer Engineering is a course designed for students who wish to opt for a computer science course after class 10th studies. Electrical & Electronics Engg
Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering is a Diploma level course. Technologies are always under evolution, so due to the technical modernization of the world and computerization in our work field, it is necessary to use and understand the circuits and computerized devices in electrical & electronic field. Civil Engineering
Civil Engineering deals with the design, construction and maintenance of the physical and naturally built environment, including works like roads, bridges, canals, dams and buildings. During the study, they learn about planning, drafting (both manual and computer-aided), surveying, estimation & costing, construction technology, basics of the highway, railway, bridge, airport, tunnel and harbour engineering. The course also offers adequate exposure to reinforced concrete structures, quality control, material testing, construction management & entrepreneurship, professional practice and office procedures. Students also get a feel for an extensive survey, building drawing, irrigation & bridge drawing and structural engineering drawing. Students are also exposed to software like AUTOCAD & STAAD.

The programme also deals with hydraulics, mechanics, the strength of materials and refrigeration. The purpose of offering a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering course is to provide education and training to students who can work as professionals in industries and production companies in the future. Polymer Technology
Diploma in Polymer Technology is a diploma level course. Polymer Technology or Macromolecular Science is the subfield of materials science concerned with polymers, primarily synthetic polymers such as plastics. The field of polymer science includes researchers in multiple disciplines including chemistry, physics, and engineering. The course includes chemistry, physics, chemical engineering and biochemistry. Polymer science is the study of the materials of everyday life and the development of new materials that meet societal and technological needs. Course structure introduces the students to Polymers that are usually manufactured in the form of fibres, yarns, flakes and granules.
